I’ve been greatly enjoying Poketo’s products lately. Between the Andrea Kang wallets and some of their mug designs, I’ve had a hard time keeping myself from buying up a lot of what they’ve been producing these days. Their motto is “Art for your Everyday”, a slogan I like because they do make it simple to incorporate touches of art into your day to day. In addition to creating cool products, they have shone some light on talented artists who I might not have otherwise known about. Andreas Samuelsson is one of those talents.
I really love his style and looking at his portfolio, he is consistent in keeping his work brightly colored, simplistic yet engaging and fun. Although simplistic, it is the details in life that this artist utilizes often in his work. This attention to the little things is what brings out the most charm in his art. He lists his inspirations as Japanese arcade games, coffee, jazz music, swimming and sometimes he finds it inspiring to recreate old record and book covers, flyers, packaging, stickers or film graphics.
