New Moon 2011 – Junko Mizuno

The 3rd annual New Moon show will be taking place this Friday the 11th from 6 – 9pm at myplasticheartNYC.  Twenty-four (24) artists in different artistic backgrounds will be displaying their interpretations of the twelve (12) Chinese zodiac animals.  Leading up to the show we will be introducing you to each artist participating in the show.

Junko Mizuno – Zodiac Animal Chosen – Dragon

In 1996, Junko Mizuno self-produced a photocopy booklet called “MINA animal DX”

which brought her to the attention of the publishing industry in Japan. Soon after,

she debuted as a professional comic artist, illustrator and painter.
She is recognized for her unique style of powerful and erotic female imagery.
A Tokyo native, Junko’s work is highly-influenced by Japanese cute
culture such as Manga, animation and toys. She was featured on the
BBC’s acclaimed documentary series Japanorama, and her work has been

exhibited in galleries worldwide. She is also the author of art book

Hell Babies and has created several graphic novels, in addition to
collaborating on numerous toy and clothing projects.
