Origins of the Forest Opening Recap

On Friday, September 7, mph welcomed the Origins of the Forest show, featuring new artwork by Amanda Louise Spayd. If you missed the interview we did with her about her delightful creature creations, please read it here. You can also have a look at the pieces in the show in our web store, but if you snoozed, you lost… since ALL of the work has already sold! Even if you didn’t manage to buy a piece before the show sold out, Amanda’s artwork can still be admired at our shop until October 7.

Amanda’s work is rich with history and begs the viewer to ask questions about its past. For this show in particular, Amanda used her origins of growing up in an area where the woods were a place of inspiration, comfort and wonder. Origins of the Forest is her love letter of sorts to the woods she finds solace in.

Thanks to Amanda and everyone who came to the opening! Find more pictures from the opening on our Flickr page!
