Sneak Peek @ Jen Tong’s Work for Bad Luck Club

(The above image is cropped from the original, so you will have to come to the show to see the whole piece!)

We recently spoke to Bad Luck Club artist Jen Tong about her artwork in the upcoming show at myplasticheart. Jen, a graduate from the School of Visual Arts in NYC, grew up in San Francisco but currently lives in Brooklyn, where she has immersed herself in what she describes as a “thriving and nurturing art community” through her illustrations, prints and comics.

Here’s what she had to say about her artwork and the Bad Luck Club show:

“Like Aya’s work, narrative plays a significant role in my pieces. The lemon people depicted in my two pieces come from a colorful universe elaborated in my comics. I am influenced by a lot of comic books; when I am not making illustrations and prints, I am making mini-comics and screen-printed comic art books. I feel very privileged to be involved in this show with such a talented group of artists. The fact that we all happen to be ladies is fantastic as well!”
