Our previous show, Rabid, Wild & Docile featured the work of none other than street bear extraordinaire, Flying Fortress. He recently had the opportunity to speak to elementary school children about his graffiti work and vinyl toys. He asked the kids to use the outline of his infamous Teddy Trooper to create their own works of art. The results were pretty amazing.
It’s great to see someone like Flying Fortress invited to a school classroom. I find that a lot of this type of modern work is completely off limits in the teaching curriculum until you get to college (at least it was that way for me). I feel like if Fortress had come to my classroom back in the early 90’s when I was just a lil’ one, my life would have been enriched with art so much earlier!
