Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a great weekend and nice mother’s day. Today I wanted to travel with you across the globe to wee lil’ New Zealand. For being a very small country, the art scene is thriving and when I lived there a few years back, I became a big fan of the artwork of the Cut Collective, a group of artists creating art in the streets, at festivals and for gallery shows. One of the main forces behind the collective is TrustMe, a founding member whose real name is Ross Liew. Under the moniker TrustMe, Ross has created thousands of stickers, posters, stencils and paintings that have reached a wide audience both on the street and indoors. In his work, he often makes pop culture references to play upon our familiarity with something, while throwing in a dash of wit and criticism to make you think.
You know I am a sucker for looking into artists’ studio spaces to see what they have collected over the years, so check out the video below to see Ross as well as other Cut Collective members, Component and Enforce One, in their shared studio space.
