Paul Shih, nominated for best self-produced toy (for Sushi Kaiju) in the Designer Toy Awards last year, is creating a claymation with his partner, Amy. Paul recently released images of the claymation in progress, which the couple began working on over the holidays. He’s revealed that the film will give us a glimpse of the concept of his next toy design. If you’re not familiar with Paul’s work, have a look at Bevil, the devilish broccoli. It’s great to see Paul involved in creating a claymation. When I first met him back in New Zealand in 2006, he was creating 3D scenes with his characters and photographing them. This looks like the next step in the process, and I can’t wait to see the results!
